Contributions Wanted (2008 Update)

Oak Valley Press, Inc., is seeking writers to contribute articles (see easy submission form link below) about their biking experiences to be put into a new book entitled:

“Biking in Alabama - Stories, Tales & Memories”

We want the submitted stories to be “experiential”.

We are soliciting stories from bike club members across the state which may eventually be selected to be in this proposed book.

This proposed anthology would include personal stories (accounts) from Alabama bike riders, road and trail. (You don't have to belong to a Club to contribute)  We want to include resources and riding places, venues and reference for all things about  your favorite two wheeled activity. Submit strange, funny, inspirational, motivational, unusual, crashes, dog stories or just plain weird if have or can write something like that.

Some have suggested this book to be used as part of a "fund raising activity" or a "publicity tool" for biking events.  As the publishers, we don't expect to make any "real money" off the thing, so anybody who might contribute should not expect a monetary award.  And to sign off on that non-expectation.  Along with your ride "experience" we'd like to include a little bio and your photos including where in the state of Alabama is your favorite place to ride your bike. The real reward here is personally contributing to a something devoted solely to this activity we enjoy so devotedly. See below the list of some of the organizations who give their support "
